Here I am.......

.....On the road again

But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do
When youre riding sixteen hours and theres nothing much to do
And you dont feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through

Here I am - on the road again
There I am - up on the stage
Here I go - playing star again
There I go - turn the page

Helmets Please

Yesterday as i walked up the office floors (coz i am sometimes not that lazy to use the lift) i ran into a colleague sipping his cup of tea and it struck me I hadn't seen him in a while. A closer look revealed the reason why. Bruises from an accident still fresh and i had to stop and ask. Tells me he had an accident when a bus reversed into him on the way home one night. Was in the ICU for 4 odd days. SCARY!!!!. And like most he too remembers less of what happened. 11 stitches on the face, swelling to the eye and a little brain damage to contend with. Ironically his problematic neck stops him from wearing a helmet. Although i am from the 'Practice what you Preach' category i would request everyone out there to please use a helmet. I am sure we do not want any of our friends suffering similar fates. Incidentally i have this guy on my Orkut friend list who unfortunately passed away in a bike accident. It was a very moving experience when i visited his scrapbook and looked at some of the scraps his friends had left him.

This post specifically goes out to Indians and more so to Puneites coz Pune truly is a 2 wheeler city where traffic rules are seldom obeyed and 4 wheelers and beyond care less about 2 wheelers or pedestrians for that matter. On a sign off note, be careful.... live not only for ourselves but also for the people around us for when we are hurt we are numb..at times numb to the pain we cause those around us.

Water fills the South

Some more travel pics en route Mangalore to Goa. Had to go to be with someone :) who was going away for a while. :(
Don't miss the first one where the train enters the tunnel. GREAT SHOT BOY:)).

Note to the guy in the canoe and self: Not a very smart idea considering the reliability of the Indian Railways

No offence meant

This morning i remembered of this funny incident my friend narrated to me about his stint at some Australian Uni. During one of the lectures, there was this guest lecturer who was also a entrepreneur of sorts. He was demonstrating the use of some machinery and then went on to say that for an additional 500 $ Australian he would provide some piece of equipment, rather a button which was more ergonomically placed than the one on the original machinery. This would actually help the operator to a minimal extent but for a large price. So my friend, the smart mouth that he is says, "Sir i come from India, i could as well hire another man to press that button for me and it would be cheaper than your appliance". LOL. Obviously taken aback the lecturer said. "Yes, you are right" :)

Glasgow memories

With the attack on Glasgow International Airport, came back memories of the time i took a flight from Glasgow Airport last year. This was on my way back from a couple of days in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Highlands. For sure was a fun trip. Some pics of the airport...and some misc....
